The new Janet Jackson greatest hits album titled "Number Ones" is due out Nov. 17 in the U.S. on A&M/UMe, which celebrates the career and artistry of one of the most successful and influential artists in music history. Outside of America, it will be titled "Janet Jackson: The Best", and on the street Nov. 23. The 34-track collection includes 33 of Jackson's hits plus one new track titled "Make Me," produced by Jackson and Rodney Jerkins. Thirty (30) of the album's 34 songs reached #1 on either Billboard's Hot 100, R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Dance/Club Play Songs or Adult Contemporary charts. It includes all 10 of her Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles and her 16 [chart] toppers on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Number Ones spans nearly Janet’s entire groundbreaking recording career, from her 1986 breakout album, Control to 2008’s Discipline. It will not feature any of the singles from her first two albums, "Janet Jackson" from 1982 or "Dream Street" from 1984. Janet Jackson has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and she is one of the best-selling artists in contemporary music. "Number Ones" will be the singer's second best-of package in the U.S., following 1995's "Design of a Decade 1986/1996." That effort peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold 2.4 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. Jackson is also currently at work on her 11th studio album, which is due out in 2010. About Javier Pitera Javier Pitera knows a clearly musical vocation from child, studies piano, composition, arrangements and harmony in the IMT of Madrid. Apagorevmeno (Greek: Απαγορευμένο; English: Forbidden) is Greek singer Anna Vissi's 25th studio album, and was released in Greece and Cyprus on December 9, 2008 by Sony BMG Greece. It is her first studio album since 2005 and includes the singles "To Parelthon Mou" from the soundtrack of the film Bank Bang as well as the Greek cover "Kontra" as bonus tracks, bringing the number of songs to 15. The album was repackaged and re-released with three new songs and two remixes as Apagorevmeno+ on November 16, 2009.

It is Vissi's first album to not include any songs by Nikos Karvelas since her 1981 album Anna Vissi. Chief producer Greg Ladanyi along with a number of the album's personnel are affiliated with the Maple Jam Music Group, a company that also acts as part of Vissi's management since 2008.

Christopher Cross had a lot to live up to following his self-titled debut album, which had sold a million copies (now up to four million), spawned four Top 40 hits, including the number one hit, "Sailing," and won him five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year (the last two for "Sailing"), and Best New Artist. So, he took three years to make Another Page, which, unsurprisingly, sounded a lot like its predecessor. Cross concentrated on smooth pop arrangements, over which be sang greeting-card romantic sentiments in an innocent, Brian Wilson-like tenor. No one would confuse the result with anything truly heartfelt, or with real rock & roll, but Cross' soothing approach was still good enough to put two of his songs, "All Right" and "No Time for Talk," into the Top 40 and earn a gold record certification. Then, nearly a year after the album's release, TV soap opera General Hospital began featuring the maudlin ballad "Think of Laura," and Another Page suddenly had a third single, this one a Top Ten hit.

Having suffered a commercial decline with the ballad-filled Another Page, Christopher Cross took a harder rocking approach with his third album, Every Turn of the World. Gone were the L.A. session aces and the SoCal chorus of famous fellow pop singers, as Cross wielded his SynthAxe and producer/co-writer, Michael Omartian his keyboards, along with a rhythm section, on a selection of up-tempo songs, many of which had 'save-the-world' themes. It didn't work. "Charm the Snake," the typically energetic lead-off single, sputtered on the charts, while Cross' core audience of "adult contemporary" ballad fans deserted him, and the album was a sales disaster. If anybody had tried turning over the LP and sampling tunes like The Beach Boys tribute, "Love Found a Home," they would have discovered a couple of more characteristic Cross songs, but it was too little, too late.

Cross hadn't made any great changes to his adult contemporary ballad stylings, although the record certainly bears the stamp of mid-'90s production techniques. Perhaps he would have been able to re-enter the charts if he had been able to come up with a selection of material that was melodically engaging, but most of the record is devoid of anything resembling hooks; instead, it relies on its production to make an impact. As a result, Window is a bland collection of faceless, mellow pop that works only as background music.

Mike Mareen was born in post-war Berlin, West Germany and grew up in Lüneburg. His first musical success was with the band Cemetery Institution who played at Hamburg's Star-Club. Mareen later became a merchant sailor, a job which eventually took him to New York City where he played with several American groups. Biography by Ron Wynn Though born in Jamaica, vocalist Precious Wilson spent her childhood in England, later moving to Connecticut. She sang gospel extensively as a teen before returning to England. Wilson joined the Silent Eruption, which later became Eruption, and recorded singles produced by Frank Farian. Farian produced Wilson's Epic debut LP in 1981, On The Race Track, and the singles "If I Loved You Less" and "I Need You" in 1985. Her single "I'll Be Your Friend" reached the R&B Top 40 in America and did even better internationally.

The band Monkey Business began in 2000 and immediately after publishing their first record quickly became an overnight sensation. After that, all four records of this great funky band from Prague opened to enthusiastic reviews and sold out concert tours. Anything less would be considered a failure, as bandleader and producer Roman Holy was not satisfied with having the best Prague funkateers joining his new outfit. Instead, he invited funk legend Fred Wesley to add some old school funk flavour. Fred Wesley, best known for his time as James Brown’ s band leader and author of several hit records, including Pass the Peas and Houseparty, worked with Monkey Business on their first two albums, writing the horn section arrangements and leading the section in the studio. Another notable guest was David Williams, a regular of Michael Jackson and Madonna records. MB´s albums offer tracks with 99% English lyrics, tackling matters ranging from career choices to the creation of the universe. All records were published on the Sony Music Columbia label.
